Is Quantum Break, with its meld of compelling gameplay, strong storyline and high-quality TV series, really the future of gaming? Yes, but maybe it'll be Quantum Break 2 (if there is one) that truly nails it 100%. If they dial back the gorgonzola, the product placement and adjust that cover mechanic, this could have been a perfect game.
But, for now, you've got the best-looking game on Xbox One, jam-packed full of familiar faces and top-notch acting, complemented by strong gameplay mechanics and a popcorn-crunching TV series.

It’s too bad the experience is disrupted by the crashes, and I wish Remedy would learn how to deal with repetitious content. That was a big complaint with Alan Wake, and it has come around again. But it’s not as bad in this game. It didn’t annoy me that much, but I think it will drive some people to just go and watch the game on YouTube playthroughs, rather than deal with playing it themselves.
But the story is quite elaborate, the human character animations are outstanding, the performances are great, and there are some real moving moments in the game. Greg Louden of Remedy told me, “Most games you play through once and forget. Quantum Break and Alan Wake and Max Payne are games you remember.

Quantum Break is another example of Remedy Entertainment sticking to what they know, and doing it better than anyone else. An engrossing adventure with a captivating story. experimentation with new mediums for telling stories in games and refined third-person gameplay to match. Quantum Break isn’t optional, it’s essential.

Remedy swung for the fences and hit a homerun with Quantum Break. With an engrossing story, an amazing cast, and the most beautiful visuals on the Xbox One we’ve ever seen, Quantum Break is a masterpiece.

Plus
Amazing visual effects

Fantastic story that reacts to your in-game decisions

A beautifully crafted and hugely enjoyable experience, Quantum Break is a fantastic addition to anyone’s library. The lighting effects alone make any arguments about resolution dissipate, with a solid set of unique mechanics and breathtaking set-pieces that keep the game fresh and exciting. Whilst I had some issues streaming the show, the content within is in such good keeping with the game, that it’s a minor blip on the radar when all is said and done. Microsoft’s flirtation with the world of TV proved to be a bit of a flop, but for the most part, Remedy have somehow managed to nail it.

The combat in the game is fun with your powers adding something to the mix so that this isn’t just another third person cover shooter. I was interested in the story the whole time and I was always excited to see what would happen in the live action show as a result of decisions I made in the game and vice versa. Also keep in mind that once you beat the game you should also hang around and watch the credits so you don’t miss something. Remedy really has done an amazing job here and I’m hopeful this becomes a new franchise for them instead of just a one off.

Las acciones temporales son una auténtica pasada. Las roturas del tiempo están ingeniosamente implementadas por doquier. Presentación de lujo. Buen guión y documentos extra. Gran idea de nudos. La mejor combinación con actores reales en un juego.

Although I really had fun with it, but I lack in comparison to other current titles of variety. The possibilities of time manipulation are underused, puzzles there are almost no, and if you want the whole story, some really long texts must endure blank (Beth's notebook), but sometimes contain important information.
The Jimquisition - 8.5/10
Quantum Break is not the most revolutionary of games, and its box of time toys cover what is, at heart, a fairly standardized shooter. However, it carries itself with style and speed to create something genuinely fascinating to play, flavored by a story that, while failing to pay off in the final stretch, is more detailed and engrossing than most in its league.

It's a disappointing realization, but not a damning one. Far from it, actually. Remedy's keen understanding of how to make an action title shines through, and it's every bit a game that has been lovingly crafted for years. Quantum Break won't at all times feel like a game, as the player spends a fair chunk of time relegated to spectator. But, no matter which side Quantum Break is showing, it's always going to be a spectacular one.
GameInformer 8.5
Quantum Break isn’t a perfect game; it’s a bold experiment in how two mediums can tell a larger story, and at times it pays off. It would be foolish for every game to attempt to emulate this form of storytelling, but Quantum Break as a gaming oddity deserves attention. I wish the events of the show were more significant to the main story, but Quantum Break more than makes up for that with some of the best storytelling and gameplay Remedy has ever produced.

Remedy has, without a doubt, crafted a very creative title with Quantum Break. It’s not going to be the killer exclusive game that so many were looking for with the Xbox One, but it’s definitely been worth the wait. Story gamers will especially delight in replaying the game multiple times to see the various episodes and experience the different paths the game itself can take. For anyone with an Xbox One, Quantum Break is a must-own.
We Got This Covered - 4/5
To conclude, Quantum Break is yet another impressive effort from one of gaming’s strongest and most interesting studios. While it’s not perfect, due to an overemphasis on narrative elements and a lesser amount of gameplay than one would expect, it’s a very ambitious effort that keeps you invested throughout its eight-or-so hour-long runtime. And, while I still prefer Alan Wake when all is said and done, I find it easy to recommend this time-bending follow-up to all mature gamers who are looking for something thought provoking and creative; not to mention those who love seeing how far gaming has come over the years.
SavingContent - 8/10
Remedy continues to innovate in mixing high octane, refined action elements with intense and well done story elements that build their worlds up like no other. From a shooting game standpoint, Remedy is sticking to what core story driven games usually provide. Linear, point A. to B. with scripted elements, battles, and sometimes explorative elements. Fundamentally the gameplay from that perspective can feel almost archaic or old school. Yet with the time powers, the visuals that encompass the gameplay, the live action, and the world building, they push the game above others and the elements combined with the shooting mechanics. Combat that also provides excitement, fun, and replayabilty, even after the story has been played out to boredom with players, the combat and visual spectacle will continue to bring folks back to it again and again. Time may be fucked, but in Quantum Breaks case, that might not be such a bad thing.

Quantum Break is a game I think a lot of people are going to enjoy as it’s highly innovative as well as visually unique. It also includes great performances from familiar faces, a wealth of interesting ideas and memorable gameplay that is as stylish as it is approachable. Basically, it’s everything needed to satisfy a broad demographic while still engaging more scrutinous players with a compelling science fiction narrative that’s actually based on plausible scientific theory. I have great respect for any developer that tries to do something different, even if it doesn’t always work. And yes, there are some things in Quantum Break that don’t always execute that well, but it’s hardly a deal breaker. Ultimately, it’s a solid game with good replay value, a lot of memorable moments, and is, without a doubt, a must-play for Xbox/PC owners.

But what QB delivered for me is how it masterfully delivers its narratives across levels, live-action shows and collectibles. I love watching the story unfold, love the differences subtle or significant I found when replaying the levels via different choices.
And the combat, while not anything revolutionary, worked well with the shooting mechanics and time based powers, it's not very skillful, not that difficult, but it feels awesome and badass.
As a full package, QB probably lacks what keeps players coming back for very long, but if you like to explore, like to see a story unfold, QB might be right up your alley.

Quantum Break makes some amazing innovations in the gaming industry with the live-action TV show, unique and original powers and abilities, and beautifully designed set pieces and the levels built around them. However, the story leaves a lot to be desired, the abundance of video game tropes thrown in your face is way overboard, and the controls for telling Jack where to go really need some tweaking. However, it's still worth the ride.

With astounding production values, powerful story-telling, and rewarding combat, Quantum Break is a stellar game. But due to an underdeveloped upgrade system and poorly thought out content delivery that demands heavy bandwidth, it isn't exactly a game we can recommend to everyone wholeheartedly. Make no mistake though, if you have the means to play it as it was meant to be, it's worth experiencing.
