I can't see any benchmarks or testing yet from the big tech bros, its been around 2 days already. Pretty weird that this is massively going under every youtubers radar, they are usually pretty quick to generate content like this.
My RTX 5080 hasn't arrived yet to personally see, but I'm super curious about it.
EDIT: okay, I saw the mentioned videos on the Lossless Scaling discord
The guy is playing RDR2, he tried Smooth Motion on and off
Smooth Motion On:
~160 FPS, around 50-55ms latency/PCL (this is good, playable latency, not to be confused with frametime)
-Video is noticeably smooth, he is moving around the mouse super fast, hard to see any artifacts, no noticeable stutters
-he says "i see more artifacts in the video than my game" and "far better than LSFG" "Better frame pacing, better quality, latency seem be better too"
Smooth Motion Off:
~80FPS, latency is around 40ms +-5 in the video
so its probably 10-15 ms added latency
He also tried Smooth Motion from 30 to 60 (didnt show on vs off)
Video looks 60fps smooth, but latency is 100ms (ridiculous if accurate), its probably not playable, but i dunno, he didnt mention playability.
